I was hiking yesterday and I met a guy on the trail. As we chatted, I offered him a Christmas cookie! He was very happy and said, "Sure! But, it doesn't have any nuts, does it?" Are you going somewhere for Christmas? For the end of the year? For the upcoming holidays? Well, I have a friend who ALWAYS prepares a new joke to tell his family during the holidays. A GREAT expression that you can use today...find a situation where you THOUGHT something was not going to be good...but then something unexpected came along and everything was okay!! Example... I was cooking dinner--steak! It was going to be romantic. BUT, just as I was about to start cooking, the electricity went out!! Then I remembered, "I have a barbecue grill!" Do you like selling? Most people do NOT like selling. Most people do NOT like salespeople. But...that is not good. We ALL have to sell EVERYDAY. Moms sell their ideas to kids--eat your carrots, they're good for your eyes. Don't sit too close to the TV or you'll need glasses. Employees sell their ideas to their bosses/companies--If we changed the color of the design more people might be interested in it. If you have a good recommendation, you sell it to your friends--You really need to see this new movie. I saw it last night and it is excellent. Selling is not so bad...as long as you are selling something that is TRULY good. And there are lots of TRULY good things out there, right? Today's podcast will teach you another word for SELLING!! Monday!! I like Mondays...sorry^^ Today's expression is really good--when you are waiting for someone else to make a decision for you but people ask you what you are going to do... For example: I want to go on a date with Sue. I sent her a text: "Would you like to go to the movies with me on Friday night?" However, so far, no answer. Then my friend asks me, "Hey, Shane! Are you going to the movies with Sue on Friday night?" Well...I'm still waiting for her answer, right? Once I know HER answer, I can tell my friend Yes or No!!
