The thing is, these two are just a joy to talk to, so somehow Ali tried to find a balance between the nitty gritty and the 'Can talk about Booksmart?' side of things. Eternals is the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the 26th, no less - and it's a BIG ONE. We're talking thousands of years passing, the creation of worlds, the destruction of worlds, Angelina Jolie as an elite warrior who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy... There's a huge amount at stake with this one! And a killer cast, including Kit Harington and Gemma Chan, both of which you'll hear from today, as well as our Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao, not forgetting Don Lee and Ms. Jolie herself.

There are so many films to watch in UK cinemas right now: Dune, No Time To Die, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The French Dispatch, The Many Saints Of Newark, Last Night In Soho, Eternals, Spencer... the list goes on and on. On this review special, friend of the podcast and all-round hero Clarisse Loughrey stops by to help Ali try to tackle as many of them as possible. Edgar Wright is back with Last Night in Soho, a psychological horror time-travelling thriller drama - our term - teaming up with friend of the podcast Krysty Wilson-Cairns on writing duties. Both are here to tell you all about how they turned the clock back in central London, as are two of the stars, the wonderful Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith. This is a tricky film to talk about without giving too much away, so wish us all luck...

It's Halloween! Or, perhaps, by the time you read this... it was Halloween! So that explains why friend of the podcast and die-hard Scream aficionado Louise Blain stops by for a special 'Ali Plumb's Film Club' all about the original Scream, 26 years after it first hit cinemas. Expect discussions and descriptions of a variety of unpleasant Screamy activities - in a fun way! But also in a "just so you know" way, just so you know.

Dune is finally in cinemas and that is a very, very, very big deal indeed. Here's the wonderful and ever-charming Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica in the film) to talk all about it - more or less - with Ali, as you, dear listener, specifically requested. Oh, and as well as talking Dune, there's also some chat about getting on the tube with Tom Cruise, her favourite family games to play and much, much more. Also! Succession series 3 - or should we say 'season 3', as it's a US show, even if it's written by a mainly British writing staff? Anyway... - is finally here in the UK on Sky / Now and Ali is very excited about that indeed. Here he is, geeking out about one of his favourite TV shows on air today with three of its stars: Sarak Snook, Brian Cox and Matthew Macfadyen. Warning - and this is a BIG WARNING - these conversations contain plenty of strong language, just like the show itself. Also, spoilers for series / seasons 1 and 2. Now you know!

Halloween Kills is the twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise. That's right, twelfth. It's only the sixth - we think - to include the legend that is Jamie Lee Curtis, and it's also the follow-up to 2018's Halloween, the box office winner that reset the timeline and ignored the previous sequels. On this particular interview special, you'll hear from the queen of scream queens as she explains just how unglamorous it is to shoot a low-budget horror and what she has/had planned for the Halloween Kills red carpet...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is finally in UK cinemas - two weeks after it first dropped over in the US - so now feels like the perfect time to unveil our 'Becoming... Venom' interview with Tom Hardy. Ali and Tom dig deep on what makes the character(s) tick, touching on the voice, the look, the attitude, the everything. It also contains some terrible Venom impressions from Ali, for which he can only apologise.

With so, so, so, so many of your fine folk asking so, so, so, so nicely, Ali and Neil have got together once again to talk No Time To Die - only this time WITH SPOILERS. That's right: the No Time To Die Spoiler special is here, and it's earlier than anyone could have expected. So if you're looking for a safe space to hear fellow nerds really dig into what goes down in No Time To Die, you've come to the right place. Just make sure you've seen the film already. Seriously. We're not kidding. At all.

With No Time To Die pretty much the only big movie in town - sorry The Addams Family 2, you know it's true - Ali is joined by the always wonderful Lucy Ford to talk about some of the biggest and best TV shows we're all watching right now. Okay, fine: Squid Game. A lot of this podcast (the second half, more or less) is about Squid Game. No spoilers though, we're totally aware we're not all totally up to date here, but as well as your usual weekly dose of movie and TV news we will be coming to terms with the HUGE success of the straight-outta-leftfield Korean Battle Royale-style game show drama.

In addition to speaking to Daniel Craig for our 'Becoming... Bond' piece, Ali also got to speak to the likes of Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek and director Cary Fukunaga as well, the lucky so and so. No Time To Die is finally here, in cinemas, ready to be watched by you. The trouble is, here's a motion picture that's so stuffed full of twists and turns it's practically impossible to review it properly without giving too much away. To make things just a little bit easier for Ali, friend of the podcast and Bond expert Neil Alcock has returned to chew the fat on No Time To Die - and even talk about who should play James Bond next...

The always wonderful Ace is back to talk to Ali about the latest movie and TV news, from who won what at the Emmys and what an earth is going on with this new animated Super Mario movie. As ever, things stay geeky and blockbustery - it's what we do around here - as Ace and Ali talk more about Shang-Chi now that, um, well, Ace has actually seen it. Often helps with film discussions, eh?

It's finally here: Ali talking to the one and only Daniel Craig about his time playing James Bond: 15 years of his life, from Casino Royale in 2006 to No Time To Die, his final outing as the superslick superspy, at long last out in cinemas here in the UK on September 30th, and in ‘theaters’ over in the US on October 8th. P.S. At times Daniel uses some adult language so if that sort of strong stuff might offend, maybe step away from the podcast.

Sex Education is back, and with it the opportunity for Ali to talk to some of his favourite people: the cast of Sex Education. Yep, it's as simple as that. The two brave souls willing to let Ali 'King Of Bad Pronunciation' Plumb mangle their names are Ncuti Gatwa (who plays Eric) and Chinenye Ezeudu (who plays Viv). Both are on brilliant form as they talk green screens, Americanisms and what 'new friends' say when they meet them for the first time.

Ali is joined by TV expert - and co-host of BBC 5 Live's 'Must Watch' podcast - Scott Bryan to talk through the best telly of 2021 so far, as well as what we have to look forward to for the rest of the year.

Karen Gillan needs no introduction, and yet... here we are, just in case. The performing artist formerly known as Amy Pond has appeared in the likes of the MCU (as Nebula), Jumanji (as Ruby Roundhouse) and that little tiny weeny sci-fi show Doctor Who. She's back in our lives on September 17th when her new fight-filled action-thriller (called Gunpowder Milkshake by the way) hits NOW / Sky Cinema in the UK. Here, as an early special treat for you special podcast listeners, is Karen's 'Story So Far' interview, a week before it hits BBC iPlayer. Enjoy!
