It was called Olestra and it promised to give us all the flavor of fat in a potato chip without all the calories and fat grams that were causing us to be fat and sick. It was promised to be a healthier option and so many Americans tried it. ⁣ ⁣ It didn’t take long for the stories to leak out (all pun intended) of explosive diarrhea and anal leakage after consuming this man-made fat. Not surprisingly, Olestra was taken off the market and we thought this would discourage any future fake fats from coming on the scene. If only we were that lucky. ⁣
