She wrote Suicidal Planet and thinks that by focusing on our personal carbon budget more people would engage realistically with the problem of global warming. The British decided that this was an idea before its time but Australians with a carbon footprint of 23 tonnes compared to the average European with 8 should not shy away from this detailed and sensible discussion.
