I got together with Athena Del Rosario a few weeks ago in our local library and had a discussion about her life. Transitioning in the 90's was tough without doctors and the internet but Athena found a way to start the process before seeing her first doctor. After the 2008 recession, Athena used a short stint in the adult film industry to help pay for her transition. She would return to college in her late twenties and return to sports.  During the podcast we do spend about 10 minutes doing free advertising for the beautiful UC-Santa Cruz campus (Go Banana Slugs) and we talk about her involvement with the potential olympic sports, Beach Handball.
