Consider the times you have sudden insight; driving, showering, napping, sleeping, jogging, or lifting weights. Performing habits tends to trigger creative insight, perhaps due to the brain wave frequency in which habit operates—the Alpha and Theta levels. By definintion, habits require little or no conscious thought. This simple aspect is what frees up one's mind to allocate resources elsewhere—a space that allows the subconsicious to help solve problems that the conscious mind had been working on previously.
